Road rules and access conditions may change. Check official local sources, road conditions and your rental terms before travel.

Insurance terms are not universal

Collision damage waiver (CDW), theft protection, excess or deductible and deposit are different concepts. Read the supplier’s legally binding rental conditions rather than relying on a product headline.

Check what is excluded

Cover may exclude tyres, glass, roof, underbody, off-road driving, water damage, or certain road types. Rules and exclusions vary by country and contract.

Photograph the vehicle

Record the vehicle condition at collection and drop-off, including the interior, wheels and fuel level. Keep the rental agreement and receipts.

Claims and payment cards

Check the required payment card type and deposit hold, and understand whether protection reimburses you after a claim or reduces the amount charged at the desk. Never assume a zero-deposit booking.
