Can You Take a Rental Car Between the Canary Islands?
What to confirm about rental car ferry crossings, insurance and drop-off before island hopping.

Permission depends on the supplier
A ferry ticket does not mean your rental car is allowed on board under the hire contract. Ask your supplier for written authorization to use ferries or leave the pickup island.
Insurance can change across islands
Check whether insurance, assistance, excess and recovery still apply on the second island. Some providers may forbid ferry travel or limit cover.
Alternative: rent separately
Where inter-island car transport is restricted, it may be simpler to book a separate rental on each island. Compare the actual supplier terms and pickup logistics.
One-way returns need confirmation
Do not assume that returning a car on a different island is supported. The current GoIceCars provider integration does not price a different drop-off location as an equivalent return.
