Road rules and access conditions may change. Check official local sources, road conditions and your rental terms before travel.

Mountain roads need unhurried driving

Mountain routes such as those around Masca include steep gradients, tight bends and narrow sections. Choose a comfortable vehicle size, plan breaks and avoid rushing to meet fixed tour times. Pull in safely when necessary and never stop on a blind bend.

Driving to Teide

Conditions around Teide National Park differ from the coast and may include cold temperatures, fog or temporary restrictions at higher altitude. Check official access notices and forecasts before driving. Do not assume a car park or road is open on a given day.

Parking and rental collection

Confirm the exact airport terminal and rental pickup instructions. Popular resort and beach districts can have restricted parking: follow the posted signs and local municipal information. Review fuel and return policies before leaving the counter.

Laws and current restrictions

Spain uses right-hand traffic. Local speed restrictions, traffic controls and environmental access regulations can change, so verify the rules for your specific route and dates.
